How does AdNabu push custom products to Google Merchant Center without GTINs?

When we push your products (that have a GTIN code) to Google Merchant Center, the ‘identifier exists’ field is filled with a ‘Yes’. For all products that do not have a unique identifier i.e., a GTIN or MPN, we fill the ‘identifier exists’ attribute with ‘No’. This is also applicable to custom products. This can also be done using our ‘Bulk Edit’ option. We ensure that the GTINs are not pushed to the Google Merchant Center for these products.

Yes, this process is safe. No, you will not be penalized by Google for using this setting.

Does this feature extend to all the other marketplaces?

This feature extends to marketplaces where GTINs are optional, such as Google Shopping, Bing Shopping, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, and X. Once set up for Google Shopping Feed, the settings related to product identifiers are saved within feed URLs that our app can generate for these marketplaces. Merchants can easily use these feed URLs as data sources across those marketplaces without any extra charges.

Does this feature help with the “Limited performance due to missing value: GTIN” issue?

Yes, this feature is built to help in such cases. This warning usually appears when Google expects a GTIN for products in certain categories, but none is provided. However, not all products require GTINs, like custom, handmade, or non-standard items. If your product falls into one of these categories, AdNabu automatically sets the identifier_exists attribute to ‘no’ and sends a null ‘GTIN’ or ‘MPN’ value. Merchants can also adjust this field manually if needed. This keeps your products eligible and helps avoid disapprovals in Google Merchant Center.
