How is this feature different from the Data Feed URL?

The Export and Import feature lets you manually export and import product data using CSV files. This is useful for managing your Google Shopping Feed, especially when you need to make bulk updates or modify product information.

On the other hand, data feed URLs are automatically generated for marketplaces like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, X (Twitter), Pinterest, and Bing. When you enable a marketplace feed and choose a specific region or language, a Data Feed URL is generated that you can use as a data source on the respective marketplace to sync your Shopify products.

While the Data Feed URL is generated automatically with all your product details, the Export and Import process is manual, where you need to update and upload files as needed.

Can merchants import feed files from other e-commerce platforms?

No, merchants cannot import feed files from other e-commerce platforms using the export and import feature. Each platform has its own CSV format, and importing files with a different structure will cause the import to fail.

Additionally, the import feature does not support creating new products, so only existing product updates are possible.

What is the process of exporting products using the Google Shopping Feed app?

To export products, go to the settings in the Google Shopping Feed app and click "Export/Import Products." Choose the country and language feed, name your CSV file, and click "Export." Track the progress in the "My Activity" tab and download the CSV file when the export is complete.

Click on "Export" at the top right corner, name your CSV file, and then press "Export as CSV."

Once the export is complete, download your file, make the necessary edits, and re-import it to apply the changes to the previously selected products. This method ensures that updates are applied precisely to the products you initially chose.

Is there a limit to the number of products I can export or import?

There is no fixed limit to the number of products you can export or import, but large files may take longer to process.

How do I know if my products have been successfully imported?

Once the import process is complete, the status will be displayed as “Complete” under the My Activity tab, import section. This means all the products have been imported successfully.

Can I export products from multiple stores at once?

No, the export function is specific to the store you're managing within the app. If you manage multiple stores, you'll need to export products separately for each store.
