How can I use Shopify to manage selling on Instagram?

Instagram and Facebook use Meta Commerce Manager, a combined product management tool that allows merchants to sell and advertise on both platforms. Meta has set several guidelines which need to be followed to avoid product disapproval.

Merchants can sell and advertise the products from their Shopify store by using our app directly on Instagram.

AdNabu will allow you to easily generate error-free product data feeds (essential for successful ad campaigns and product approvals), manage and edit data on the feed, and generate data feed URLs that can be added to Meta Commerce Manager.

Do users need to create separate feeds for different marketplaces?

No, the same feed can be pushed to different marketplaces.

AdNabu will generate a unique Data Feed URL for each Marketplace that can be used to export your feed automatically.

You can generate these URLs in the ‘Marketplace’ section within the app on your store.

What file formats are supported for the Instagram feed?

Instagram supports CSV, TSV, Google Sheets, or XML (RSS/ATOM) files. We help you create an XML (preferred) file to be uploaded to your Meta Commerce Manager.

Does it cost anything to advertise on Instagram?

Advertising on Instagram is similar to advertising on Google Merchant Center. If you wish to advertise on Instagram, you need to set a Total marketing budget and the Duration for which you want to run your ads.

How often is a feed updated?

Our app updates the product data feed instantly on any change in your store. Our app will provide you with a URL (with customizable parameters) that can be added to your Meta Commerce Manager under the Catalog tab. You can also make changes in your Meta Commerce Manager manually.

Is it necessary to have an Instagram Account to advertise on Instagram?

No, it is not mandatory. Your ads will show up on Instagram without an account. However, one does need to have a Facebook Page. Your Facebook page’s name and profile photo will be used in these ads. It is advisable to have an Instagram account to make it easier for your followers to reach you.

In the case of having an extensive catalog, will there be any limit on the number of products in a store?

Our app has no limits on the number of products in the feed file. Facebook imposes a default limit of one million items per feed file.

Why should I use an app for my Instagram feed?

Can the product variants be included in the feed?

Yes, the product variants, such as different sizes, colors, and more, can be included in the feed. It is important to use unique product identifiers for each variant.

What if my Instagram feed has errors or issues?

We don’t send any errors or issues to Meta Commerce Manager. The app creates an error-free feed to ensure maximum benefit to users.

In case there is an error, the app will notify you about it before the feed is created. If there is an error that is not product related, you must check your feed from the commerce manager account to see if your feed has errors or issues.

Can the feed automatically get updated?

No, the app does not sync with your Meta Commerce Manager. The app will provide a unique URL containing your product feed that can be added to your Meta Commerce Manager.

In Meta Commerce Manager, you can set an update schedule to update any changes made to your feed file, or you can set a replace schedule to replace all the data in your Commerce Manager with the data in the feed file.

(Since Meta has an 8GB limit, replacing your feed will take longer as it is essentially rewriting the existing data. Thus it is recommended to set an ‘update schedule’ instead of replacing it each time)

Another option is to manually update your uploaded feed information in Meta Commerce Manager each time you make changes.

Does the app support Shopify Markets?

Yes, AdNabu’s Feed App supports Shopify markets and showcases accurately priced product listings in local currencies.

Our app does not link with Facebook, however, a 'Localised Data Feed URL' offered by our app can help you upload language and country-specific feed data directly.

Does the app support Metafields for Instagram?

Yes. The app supports metafields. The metafields used for your Google Shopping Feed can be used for your Instagram feed as well. You can also add custom metafields for your products.
